What is awareness? It is ‘knowledge that something exists or understanding of a situation or subject at the present time based on information or experience”.
Why is awareness so important? The only way to change something is by noticing what is happening. How else can you do anything differently if you are not aware of what you are doing!
Just the other day when I was making breakfast for my granddaughter I caught myself wanting to take those extra licks and bites. At that moment I choose to become aware of what I was wanting to do and with that awareness, I was able to make a choice. I made the choice that I did not want that bit of extra food because I knew that was not what I needed at that time. I choose awareness to realize that what I was doing I had done out of habit before and I did not want to continue doing so.
